On behalf of the AAPI: Living Heritages 2025 Photo Exhibition Organizing Committee, we are honored to invite you to attend the Opening Ceremony of this yearโ€™s exhibition:

๐Ÿ—“ Friday, May 23, 2025

๐Ÿ• Starts at 1:00 PM

๐Ÿ“ Center Court, The Shops at Santa Anita

400 S. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia, CA 91007

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPIHM) โ€” a time to recognize and celebrate the diverse cultures and enduring contributions of AAPI communities.

To commemorate this important month, the Chinese Culture Development Center, in partnership with the Press Photographers Association of Greater Los Angeles (PPAGLA), proudly presents the return of its acclaimed photographic program:

๐ŸŽž AAPI: Living Heritages, featuring two compelling new installments:

๐Ÿ“ท Taste China: A Journey with World-Class Photographers

A breathtaking visual experience of 40 photographs captured by four award-winning photographers โ€” including Nick Ut, Irfan Khan, Michael Nelson and Ringo Chiu โ€” documenting the cultural vibrancy, culinary heritage, and traditions of Chinaโ€™s Sichuan and Guangdong provinces.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Ringo & Friends: Hope out of Fire

Curated by Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Ringo Chiu, this gripping exhibit features 40 images from the Palisades and Eaton fires, captured by Ringo and nine PPAGLA members (Keith Birmingham, Jill Connelly, Blake Fagan, Gina Ferazzi, Genaro Molina,, Jon Putman, Sarah Reingewirtz, David Swanson). The collection highlights stories of loss, courage, and resilience โ€” paying tribute to firefighters, communities, and the human spirit.

The opening ceremony will feature appearances by participating photographers, community leaders, and honored guests. Join us in honoring those who preserve AAPI heritage and Southern Californiaโ€™s history through the art of photography.
