It's time to renew/start your membership in RTNA. and support the organization working 
for you! 
So far in 2012, we've worked on key issues impacting you: 
* LAUSD's exclusion of broadcast media from a public meeting on child sex abuse 
cases involving teachers;
* LAPD's confusing plans for media-handling at major events;
 * Decisions by LAFD and Pasadena Police to reduce access to dispatch calls; and
* Protecting access to landmark criminal court cases.

And hard work aside, there are opportunities for fun!  We're planning a social 
event this summer open to all members and their guests (details coming soon).  
And, this fall we'll host our engaging and entertaining "State of the News 
Business."

And something to look forward to:  the 63rd Golden Mike Awards are coming this 
summer! Visit rtna.org in August to see guidelines and revised rules for the 
2012 contest.  Streamlined entry procedures and new categories should make this 
year's contest the best ever!
